"If you read any history on extreme music, on the internet, in a book etc. it's more than likely that Discharge is going to be mentioned somewhere. Discharge is often credited with inspiring the musicians who listened to them to play faster, heavier and crazier. These young musicians went on to form Napalm Death, Morbid Angel, Carcass etc. Upon listening to the collection of singles, it's not hard to see why Discharge is credited with laying the foundation for what would eventually become grindcore. Loud, abrasive and in yer face, these songs grab you by the throat and squeeze....hard. If you're looking for virtuoso musicianship, you're looking in the wrong place, these guys pound and thrash their instruments, song after song and to be completely honest I've never heard a better punk band.
It's a shame that punk went the way it did and didn't evolve from this, well there's grind but that's a whole different story. Instead you have MTV calling Good Charlotte, Blink 182 and Green Day punk.....oh, well what can you do. If you're looking for real punk with attitude go for this, you won't regret it."
