CD ReviewsBack to the Strip Justin Gaines | Northern Virginia | 07/12/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "2007's Take It Sleezy is the debut album from California-based sleaze rockers Dirty Penny. It's great to see an album like Take It Sleazy, if for no other reason than to show that Sweden, with bands like Crashdiet, Hardcore Superstar, and Loud n' Nasty, doesn't hold a monopoly on the rebirth of sleaze rock. Dirty Penny's style is straight out of the early 80's Hollywood rock scene, with big hair, insanely catchy guitar hooks and choruses designed to be shouted along with. The band appears to be very much influenced by early Motley Crue albums, and that's not a bad thing at all. The songs on Take It Sleezy have a strong Too Fast for Love vibe with a Look What the Cat Dragged In pop sensibility. If this album had been released 20 years earlier it would have gone platinum. Instead, Take It Sleezy serves as a much-needed antidote to mainstream radio and its stunted version of what rock & roll is supposed to sound like. Rock & roll doesn't get much more fun than this. If you still carry a torch for bands like Poison, Motley Crue, and Bang Tango, then Take It Sleezy is a must-have album. Listen to the previews seriuosly and i'm very picky on my rock." What U.S. Mainstream Rock Should Sound Like! Ronodean | Indianapolis, IN USA | 03/17/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "Thank you thank you thank you, Dirty Penny. If more American mainstream bands sounded like this I might actually listen to a radio station. Take It Sleezy is an amazing album, from start to finish. There is a party packed in every track on this disc. I fell in love with this CD as soon as it hit my stereo. I was singing, screaming, shouting and chanting the lyrics along with the music the day I received it. If you love Rock n Roll that fills your heart with adrenaline and your soul with ecstacy, then you should pick this album up. These guys not only write great songs, they also know how to construct an amazing album. Rock bands take notes."
