There are moments on I Love You when the world's most distinguished diva positively purrs (Harry Nilsson's classic "Remember," which opens and closes the disc), and others when she digs deep ("To Be Loved"); 40-plus years into her career, her voice is still her own. In addition to the arrangements, problems with this imperfect disc include the songs themselves which, in this age of carefully calculated comebacks, could have been better edited (Spiral Staircase's "More Today Than Yesterday" is Ross's speed; Paul McCartney's contemplative "I Will" isn't). Still, when Diana goes for redemption she does it up big, true to form, and where I Love You redeems itself best is on its sole original composition. "My love and admiration for Diana Ross started while watching her and Mary and Cindy performing "Love Child" on Ed Sullivan back in 1968. She always has given her best while setting a standard of show business excellence that NO ONE will ever match! Her latest offering, "I Love You" is a testament to her greatness! The sound of her voice, her diction, and her timing are all "supremely" displayed on this disc! Listen to her cover of "The Look Of Love" and imagine yourself driving up the coast of southern California on a breezy summer day. Her cover of Bill Withers' "Lovely Day" is sexy and funky. "Only You" is spellbinding! "I Want You" could be a HUGE R & B single if promoted and marketed properly! I hope that, if she tours the United States, she would open her shows with "More Today Than Yesterday"! Her performance of that song would quell anyone's doubts about the undying power of her showmanship! The CD is a masterpiece and should be in every home where legendary musical performances are appreciated! Yes, I LOVE Diana Ross!! Actually, there are only two words which best describe this new CD.....DIANA ROSS!!!"

"Diana Ross is ageless and still sings as beautiful as ever. I don't usually care too much for love songs, I am a "Deep Purple" kind of guy, but Diana Ross has always been a class act and she continues that style in her CD and video. I know this CD has been out for awhile, but I went to her website just for nostalgia sake and the site played four songs including "I love You" (and that's all that really matters)she has made such a wonderful CD that I couldn't resist buying it. I suggest you go to her official site and just listen then come back here to buy it--you wont be disappointed.
