"If you're curious about Diamond Head because of Metallica's covers, take a chance on this disc, even though Lars and Co. haven't touched these tunes yet. This is Metal Blade's release of a 1996 German disc of vintage tracks somewhat questionably remastered in 1987 by DH guitarist Brian Tatler. Includes the hard to find "Dead Reckoning." Other tracks are interesting early versions of songs that appeared in more refined form on the "Borrowed Time" LP available as an import CD from Amazon. Myself, I'd pop for "Borrowed Time," but seven bucks is a bargain for an enjoyable blast from the greatest band never to make it big."

"These are studio recordings from the"Lightning to the Nations" period which went unreleased after the band got signed to MCA. Four out of five of these tracks were rerecorded for their major-label album "Living on Borrowed Time" (also availible from Amazon.com). The fifth track, "Dead Recconing" is worth the purchase price alone. The EP also includes versions of "To Heaven From Hell" and "Borrowed Time" far superior to those on the album. This is not their best, but even bad DH is better than just about anything else. Buy this thing now."
