"The next generation of death metal is about to begin and Diabolic will be at the forefront leading us into a brave new world. While bands like Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel were the reigning kings before both bands are now towards the end of their careers and people are looking for new death metal bands. If you are one of those people looking for a new death metal band buy this CD now! Diabolic is a really great band, brutal, EXCELLENT and I mean EXCELLENT vocals, good lyrics, and awesome guitar solos. I am surprised this band isnt more popular by now. A death metal band like this doesnt come around too often and I have a feeling Diabolic will be the kings of death metal someday. Thats all I gotta say. Buy this."

"Diabolic has always been a favorite of mine in the Florida death metal scene, but with the release of 'Vengence Ascending', they have tarneshed their reputaion (to me at least). Don't get me wrong, the vocals are astounding by any means, and the guitarist is all right. But. And there is a but. The drummer is by far one of the worst in modern death metal at this point. The bassist really needs to take lessons for the next year or so. I really have to give it up for a handful of songs. "The Shallowed" is truely an awesome track. Very loud and very technical. "Marked For Banishment" and "Ceased To Be" are two of the best death metal tracks I have heard all year. Other good songs are "The Inevitable" and "Posses The Strength". But that really can't save it. If this was a demo, I would not have minded as much, the under production, the laughable lyrics, the blantantly stupid artwork, I could have bypassed it all. Trash the drummer, give the bassist some time off, and call me in the morning."
