"Following the success of their 2005 album, Playing The Angel, DM release a "Best Of Volume One" collection, along with a new single, the enigmatically jazzed up, "Martyr." The song was originally put together during the Playing The Angel recording sessions, and could have just as easily been made a part of that album. Martin Gore does it again, with a great guitar riff and nicely dark and forboding lyrics on love & betrayal, sung to perfection by Dave Gahan. This is a wonderful song you're sure to listen to again and again.

Also included with the Single Version of Martyr is the Booka Shade Full Vocal Mix Edit, an electronically moody dance track, and one of the best remixes of Martyr to date. Don't miss the old school sample from Behind The Wheel used in this mix. Very cool stuff.

Since there is no commercial single release of Martyr in the USA, this UK edition is your best bet at owning a truly great and unique Martin Gore original, offically on CD. Don't settle for digital downloads. Get the Real Deal...the actual CD release!
