"This is an excellent maxi - single, I love everything of depeche mode, it remembers me about my life as a teenager, but i also love its version of "route 66", it's great! If you like DM, and if you like "Behind the wheel" i only tell you to buy it, you'll never disagree with me!"
Driving 2 fast, but it is GREAT....

"A Remix That when "Behind The Wheel on Route 66" you will find your self driving 90 (+) MPH. This Maxi Cd is great, yet hazardous to your health especially at 90 MPH. But seriously this is a classic song, and the mixes, do it pure Justice.

"This CD is so good. Behind the Wheel is such a cool song - very suggestive lyrics (subtly reflected in the video!). The remixes are very strong, focussing on the dance elements of the main track. The Beatmaster's mix took me a couple of listens to get into, but when I did; boy, does it rock. DM's version of Route 66 is also fantastic. I love the way that they incorporate themes from Behind The Wheel into the track. If you ever see the megamix CD, get that too!"

"This is another maxi-single in a series devoted to giving all aspiring
DJ's value for the dollar/pick the mix for the dance floor pulse.
There are 4 mixes of "Behind the Wheel", once of which is by Nile
Rodgers (Chic fame). Also 3 mixes of "Route 66", one of which is 10:42 mins.long. Now that's worth getting up on the dance floor for!
Amidst all the synthesizer noise from Martin Gore, Dave Gahan pays
vocal homage to a famous American road, upon which Depeche Mode probably
travelled as he tried to reach the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.(1988)
For normal mortals this might be one of the best maxi singles out there.
Can you imagine life without Depeche Mode?

"Behind the Wheel is one of DM's best songs, and all the remixes here are fantastic. I'm particularly fond of the Shep Pettibone mix, because of how stripped (no pun intended) Dave Gahan's vocals are on that one. His voice sounds very soft and pure, which makes the song that much more beautiful.
While Route 66 is not my favorite song, I thought it was an interesting addition, and the remixes are pretty good (for that, I think the Beatmasters mix really stands out).
All in all, this is a great single, and would make an excellent addition to anyone's Depeche Mode collection."
