"The Delevantes are an extremely unique act that transcend all musical barriers. Their lyrics cut to the core, yet their voices are almost angelic. The Delevantes hold onto every syllable they sing and refuse to let go of it. Brilliant harmonies highlight excellent songwriting about the working class and growing up in the culture on the East Coast. This is where the similarities to Bruce, etc., are noticable. It's hard to describe the appeal of the Delevantes, only that they are fabulous! Songs like "This Engine Runs On Faith" and "Heart Shaped Locket" have a feel-good urgency to them. They prove they can croon the heartbreaking ballad on "I Know I Promised", a song that will make the hardest heart a little tender. The best song on the album is "Blame It On the Horizon Line", about a young man struggling with the bittersweetness of leaving his home. I would love to see this performed live-I rank it as one of the best overall emotional performances I've ever heard. Closing the album are "Right About Now" and "John Wayne Lives In Hoboken", 2 songs that evoke the satisfaction of living in the present while appreciating the beauty and subtleties of the past. I don't know what else to say other than this is the best album I've heard in a long time. If you like jangly guitars, beautiful harmonies, harmonica, and great songwriting, give this album a try!"

"This album I found hard to find about 5 years ago, but I have it ! Anyways, the album represents folk, roots rock, and country. It's truly a refreshing change from other formats of American music. This album was given such little chance publicly.Best tunes here are the teary "Blame It On THe Horizon Line", the road buddy "Suitcase Of LEather", or my fav, "I'm Your Man" , a tune that's a perfect blend of rock, roots, and good ol' radioland music of that kind.TRuly an gem thats a classic...."

"A wonderful record, poorly marketed and unjustly ignored. Good tunes, vivid images and air-tight playing that mixes rock and country. The brothers know how to take small, human moments and make them big -- a skill mastered by another New Jersey native. The spirit of Mr. Springsteen pokes its head from time to time. But don't worry: These guys can stand on their own and stand tall. This is one of my favorite records of the last few years."
