CD ReviewsDecent Greatest Hits compilation with rare "Stateside" tunes sittnick@ntr.net | Chicago, Illinois | 08/13/1998 (4 out of 5 stars) "The liner notes and recording quality of this CD is on par with similar greatest hits albums. However, the last two tracks, "I Can't Believe My Ears" and "I Wish I Wasn't Me Tonight" are VERY difficult to find, as those two tracks had been released only in England when Del was between record labels. That makes this a must for Del collectors, but is a fine sample for those who simply want a good sampling of a great performer's work." This Is Del Shannon - the early rears sittnick@ntr.net | 05/29/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "This CD contains a good representation of Del Shannon's early 60's material from the classic Runaway to Stranger In Town. Also included are lesser known songs including Move It On Over, a rocker recorded with the Royaltones. While most of the songs are straight forward rock n roll, That's The Way Love Is and I Go To Pieces (the latter a hot hit for Peter and Gordon), are two songs Shannon wrote which are fine examples of slower ballad songs that show a different side of Shannon and his vocal prowness probably not known by those just familiar with his hits. The CD also contains excellent liner notes by Dawn Eden." Good representation of early 60`s recordings sittnick@ntr.net | 03/08/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "From the big hits Runaway and Keep Searchin` to the lesser known punkish Move It On Over this CD has fine examples of Del`s Rock recordings from 61 to 66. With his induction to the R&R Hall Of Fame, to those who know of him only through Runaway and want to hear more, it`s terrific listening. Very good liner notes."
