"Part 2 of Del Amitri's 2-cd single initial offering from their 6th studio album, "Can You Do Me Good?". Both cd1 and cd2 come in slimline jewel cases and include the edited (single) version of 'Just Before You Leave' plus two tracks not included on "Can You Do Me Good?" or any other Del release. This cd-single clocks in at just under 13 minutes and is a fairly typical release in that the b-side tracks are as good as the single itself (if not better). 'Just Before You Leave' is the Dels with a good disco groove (in a good way). The bass line drives the entire song with some well-placed keyboards and the standard lyrics of heartbreak. The song is closest in style to 'Cry to Be Found' from 1998's "Hatful of Rain" compilation. As good as this single is, it's the b-sides that make cd2 worth purchasing (in addition to the full length cd itself).'I'm An Unbeliever' is a classic Del b-side. Penned by Currie and Harvie it's a 6+ minute relationship tale (what else?) enhanced by excellent harmony vocals, driving acoustic guitar, and full-electric Harvie riffs at just the right moments. This track makes this cd single a necessary acquisition all on its own. The single closes with Justin Currie's acoustic 'You Love Me'. Lyrics are typically poetic (Currie is one of rock's most poetic writers) and trenchant. This single is not only a great primer for the full-length album, but a necessary addition to the vast Del Amitri b-side library. Very Highly Recommended."
