"This recording still sounds as urgent as it did ten years ago. A cracking rhythm section w/the irrepressible Kim Clarke on bass, Bowie's manic trombone and the funkiest guitar this side of Vernon Reid/Kelvyn Bell/Ronnie Drayton. A fine set-list as well covering the evolution of Defunkt from 'Illusion' on. Wonder if they'll ever reissue the brilliant 'Thermonuclear Sweat' album. Makes me yearn for that New York avant-funk scene again."
