"This came as a VERY nice surprise! I was already expecting 'great' based on whatever info i had read in the web (in few words, 'soft machine influenced sax quartet'). But what i hear is so much more. That seldom used word in today's music world, 'Individuality', came to mind while listening to this (although working inside the canterbury and UK Jazz genres), with exceptional arrangements AND solos. Imagination runs wild (and by that i do not necessarily mean fast) in the composer(s) and/or arranger(s) of these all sax group. Much like old canterbury bands and 60's/70's british jazz in general, these guys do not compromise, and at the same time the music invites you in. Highly recommended. And not just to hear these superb arrangements of old familiars but to dicover a great group with an original voice and sophisticated arrangement/compositional skills. Can't wait to hear their next release.
By the way there's a cameo appearance by Hugh Hopper in one track!"
