"With Beattlesesqe vocals and a jumping rythym section, sir Paul can retire. Its time! Lead singer Robb Benson has hit his stide with this third release with the Dear John Letters. No longer the sad sappy lyrics of the highschool journal keeper variety, Benson has returned to the helm to pilot this well balanced record. Charged with rock pop gems and littered with sweet sad moments, you travel to real places; "the creation myth" co-penned by Seattle sweetheart Amanda Mae relates the age old story of catharsis in freeing what you wish to hold close. I got this record hot off the press because i could not wait! Go see this band or even an intimate solo show, thank you Robb for doing what you do best."

"This cd is by far thier best! Take it from a huge fan of
Guided by voices, Wilco, Ben Kweller, and Spoon...
for Indie pop this record flows so well.
It kinda has a beatles feel, but it's raw and gritty
like todays indie pop. Also the art work is just plain RAD!
I sure hope these guys come back to Bellingham soon!
Otherwise i may have to take a trip to back to Seattle
soon to see them in their home town."

"Hey guys!well, yes with any change some will be happy and some will not. Such is the change with this record! Michelle and i will not be writing any longer... sorry, thats just the way it is... it was a nice time and while i enjoyed the rewriting the wrongs album very much i am personaly most happy with nevada bachelors/and new dear john letters material. (just look i gave it 5 stars :-)
Fact is.. it is more who i am. and while i had fun in making rewriting the wrongs... it was a moment in time, a rather sad moment really. and while people do enjoy them moments... they can purchase it now forever on cd ... :-)but honestly it is the abstract lyrics, and upbeat pop that i personally write and one MUST be true to themselves first and foremost in writing songs, to me that is a must! SO here is the real me... and there is MUCH more coming from where that came from!!!! ALSO The good news is... while this record is more like the bachelors stuff, is has charted much higher on CMJ then ANY record i have ever been on... up to #34 on the charts nationwide! It is also selling very well... So I am personally very happy with the new direction. It also has had MUCH better reviews then any record i have ever been a part of... so things are rolling along very nicely. I hope you take the time to give it an ear!!!thanks for stopping by!"
Liked Rewriting the Wrongs best so far....

"I have been a fan since the days of the Bachelors, but somehow it always fell short for me. I was introduced to The Dear john Letters by my Gal. I fell in love with Rewriting the Wrongs. (still in my top ten of all time favorite local records.) All I can say about Stories is that I miss the writing team of Rob Benson and poet/lyricist Michelle Price
I noticed he used another name on this record in the writing credits, I thought maybe it was a pseudonym for Benson? (It had the same nonsensical lyricism as Benson is known for) Aside from the repeat of the beautiful co-written songs of Unbroken, this could have very well been a Nevada Bachelor's record. Good but not steller. I for one am hoping to hear more from the Benson-Price team and DJL in the future!!"
