"I bought this CD mainly for the song You Still Shake Me. I remembered she had released this song back in early-mid 1999 and I loved it then but it basically went nowhere on the charts and radio stopped playing it after, like, a couple of weeks. And whenever I've requested the song, none of the DJs remember it. So I was really stoked when I found out that You Still Shake Me was on The Deana Carter Collection. This is basically Deana's greatest hits. There are twelve songs, half of which I know to be hits. The other six I've never heard of. There is Strawberry Wine, We Danced Anyway, Did I Shave My Legs For This, Absence Of The Heart, and How Do I Get There. I would give this four stars but half of the songs are useless so... It's still worth buying for Deana's incredible hits, though."
Excellent retrospective if you're new to Deana's music

"Previous reviewers have criticised this album simply because Deana only had two albums released on Capitol and that the same people are going to buy this.First thing - I haven't bought this because I have ALL the tracks already, but I assume that this album is aimed at those who didn't buy any of the earlier albums. What they will find are 12 of Deana's finest songs from the first phase of her career.Second thing - there were actually THREE albums released by Deana Carter on Capitol. The first one, also titled Did I shave my legs for this? was released in the UK (with completely different artwork) about 18 months before the American Did I shave? album. Only three tracks are common to both, including (of course) the title track. Three of the nine UK-only tracks are to be found on this compilation. Americans and Canadians can be forgiven for not realising that these tracks were available some years ago in the UK - but that album is now sadly out of print. On the assumption that anybody who already has most of Deana's earlier music won't buy this, I give it the maximum rating it deserves for the quality of the music."
Good Collection

"Some might question why Deana might have a Greatest Hits out since she only had two albums of original material (not counting her Christmas album). This is Capitol's idea though, to cash in on her success. But it's not a total loss, you get all her hits plus 3 rare songs that appeared on the UK pressings of her debut album. Those songs include "Angel Without A Prayer", "Rita Valentine" and "Graffiti Bridge". You also get her big hits like "Strawberry Wine", "We Danced Anyway", "How Do I Get There" and more. Overall a good collection for the new fans, or even the old ones."

"Deana Carter is just a wonderful vocalist singer. I love her work and her songs. Strawberry Wine is one of my all time favorite songs she has written along with There's No Limit on her CD Im Just a Girl. She is a wonderful singer in my opinion and i really admire her."
