CD ReviewsNot just background music Daniel Ting | Austin, TX USA | 06/29/2009 (4 out of 5 stars) "If you asked me what genre this music is, I'd have to say chillout. But I hesitate to say that that's all it is, because Deep Red is so much more than that. A lot of chillout is mere background music, the stuff you have playing in bars that is more like ambient noise than something catchy. This stuff is actually very listenable music, there are plenty of catchy hooks that aren't repeated over and over again like a dance remix. "We Took Pelham" and "Blade" are immediate standouts - you could definitely picture these songs in a Bond movie, although on the flipside they could also be video game music. There really isn't a bad song here, although I would say that the hidden track in "Outro" was a little pointless. A must buy if you are into movie soundtracks. An underrated music gem."
