"I saw these guys in concert with Coal Chamber, and they were AWESOME! I met them, and they were the most down to earth band I have ever met. They have something in the songs that has never been done before, and I think that if you are going to spend your money, you should spend it on this CD, because their music is awesome and I can't think of people who deserve the success more than they do. SO GET THE CD!"
Weird but good

"the creepy effects, growling high pitched vox, and crunchy guitars are rampant on this album.duke can really howl.guitar work is more intricate than can be expected on a typical metal album and the las two tracks "time" and "falling down" are two of the best mellow album enders ever.definitely grab this one.for fans of v shape mind, reveille, tool."

"Lead singer Duke goes from creepy high pitched type versus to demonic growls with the snap of a finger. This is a good thing, because with a name like 'Deadlights' you need to have a voice that makes it hard to sleep at night, and coupled with brutal musicanship and samples from horror films, names of tracks like 'Bitter' 'Whores' and 'Sado' and lyrics dealing with death and S&M 'Deadlights' have everything it takes to scare the $hit out of you. From the opening sample for 'Bitter' with some creepy man repeating 'No' while some chick moans this bands first and only release gets you ready for the onslaught that is 'The Deadlights'. 'Amplifier' gets Duke sounding something like if Billy Corgan grew some balls. 'Junk' has some of the coolest drumming I've every heard and although the guitar progression is nothing new, the chorus is so brutal it's worth listening to and the guitar intro to verse two helps make this track one step above. 'Foolish Pride' sounds a bit different than anything else on this album. It starts off aucustic and never gets out of the mainstream vibe...and thats not too bad becasue the song is pretty good. Again though, Duke sounds quite a bit like Billy Corgan here. 'Whores' is one of the best tracks here...just brutal and in your face! 'Pox Eclipse' is probably my favorite track. 'Distant Sun' gets back into the creepyness that 'Bitter' brought to the table while the closer 'Falling Down' ends things with a tribal sounding track, like something that would close a Godsmack CD...like 'Voodoo' or something, but the guitar work here is awsome. All in all, great album by a band that should still be around. Too Bad."

"Its a shame that such talented bands live such short lives. The Deadlights seemed to have every element of a band that could have been huge. Its easy to see in this one album. The band has a large resembelance to Coal Chamber but they are far from a clone band, churning out deep tunes that are a little more mellow than those of Coal Chamber.
There isn't a bad song on this album. However some songs arent as good as others. "Amplifier" is a great heavy song with a catchy chours. "Sweet Oblivion" is a slower but enjoyable song. "Junk" is the start of what I call the "better half" of the album. Starting with this song every track is outstanding. "Foolish Pride" add a really melodic twist in the middle of the album but proves to be a great song with a good message to it. The album ends witht he acoustic track "Falling Down." This seems to follow the trend of heavier bands ending an album with an acoustic song. But this one is among the best of acoustic tracks. Its a fitting end to this thoroughly entertaining CD.
Final word, pick this one up. Its well worth the cost."

"I don't really know if I can say it any better than that. I originally picked up this CD for 2 reasons: first, I knew they were on tour with Type O Negative and Coal Chamber, and second, they had received some underground hype. I had to look forever to finally find a copy, but I was not disappointed when I got it. This album has great aggressive sounds that pound your eardrums to a slimy pulp. There are also songs that are refreshingly mellow (which is probably not the right word for it). The vocals can drop to a soft melody and rip right back into deadly screams. Everything about this album is great. Nothing should stop you from taking this CD and giving it a permanent home in your CD player."
