"The directors of Daybreakers were right. Christopher Gordon's music is perfect for the film. From the moving "Immolation"(very fitting, considering what happens to the character on screen), to the action packed tracks like "On The Run"(which is probably the best example of 'chase' music I've heard in a movie score)and "Ambush", the soundtrack is just perfect. A real bonus, however, is the inclusion of the song "Running Up That Hill". If you saw the first theatrical trailer, you will most definitely remember that amazing song. Bits and pieces of it also showed up on the official studio website for Daybreakers. It's a cover of a Kate Bush song, by a band called Placebo. Songs from trailers almost never show up on soundtracks, so this was an awesome bonus.
Anyway, if you enjoyed the movie, and are a completist like me, get the soundtrack!"
A great score. . .

"2009 was a lousy year for movies, but quite a good year for film scores -- and DAYBREAKERS is one of the best of a good lot. Australian composer Christopher Gordon is one of film music's best kept secrets, but this score should help change that, as it's simply fantastic. Powerful, thematic music that mirrors the movie's narrative, it opens with a bang, but then is largely cold and atmospheric for the first half of the album, before breaking into some terrific action cues, and finally wrapping up with the superb "In the Sun," the lengthy powerhouse "Spreading the Cure" and finally the terrific summation of the film's themes, "Daybreak". DAYBREAKERS is a highlight of recent film scoring, an elegant, intelligent, thoughtful score that rewards multiple listens. Definitely give it a spin. I also recommend Gordon's other wonderful score from 2009, MAO'S LAST DANCER."
