"I don't know why I am drawn to these guys when buying CD's, but I think it's their artwork. Anyway, their last release was a nice thrashy black metalish sound that had a lot of speed to most parts. They seem to have slowed up the black metal blastbeats, and added more catchy thrash. Me like. This CD reminds me of the new Dark Tranquility, only better. Why is it better? Well it has more melody and thrash than DT. When DoR uses the keyboards, it really adds a lot more depth to the song. This is a CD I've been playing over and over just because it really is better than most stuff I hear nowdays. It's melodic death, but it's not the average swedish crap that is so cookie cutter. I wish they would explore their sound and develop it more, but this is good for now. I've been playing it more than Hypocrisy's Virus if that gives you my scale. If I had to compare it with a band...I'd say it's close to the Mercenary CD, 11 dreams - which is awesome. It's thrash, but lots of melodic death...but not too repetitive. It's not perfect, as sometimes I find myself wanting/expecting more...but then it pulls me back in with some great guitar work or catchy riffing. So far, this is in the top 10 for the year easily."
