David Young, Trumpet phenom, and a darn nice guy too...

"I had the pleasure of studying with Dave at Northwestern University last summer, and I was consistantly impressed, well, awed, by his ability to express himself through his words and music. I love listening to this CD, and it ranks right up there with the recent releases by Nick Payton and Wynton. The rest of his band plays remarkably well, and the album does a fairly good job of capturing the mystery and emotion that they display during live performances. I recommend this CD for anyone who loves good music, whether you are new to jazz or an experienced listener. You won't be disappointed."

"David Young. Hummm...yes, last time I saw the fella he bought me a foreign beer, so his bussiness must be going swell. He plays like a turbo-fusion rap star and makes me think of...August. I am Emilie. From the song. But I still know him. Dig that Downbeat, Daddy."

"After seeing David Young at the Chicago Jazz Festival, I bought his debut album. Highly recommended for all types of jazz listeners."
