"I first heard this on vinyl thirty years ago as a college freshman, and it's part of my life's soundtrack. I totally agree with the review from 'a music fan.' "Sophisticated Squaw" alone is worth the purchase. Also, "Smile" is some of the most bluesy, jazzy, romantic sax I've ever heard... If you don't like anything else on the album except those two pieces, you'll still be well ahead by owning it (although you will love the rest of the it)! That is, if you can find it."

"Sophiticated squaw still (20 years later) has to be my all-time favorite. There's just something about this song that makes me move!!!! Through the years we've had so many good jazz releases but this still captures my soul........."

"Years ago I was playing this at work and a co-worker asked me who that was. I told him David Sanborn. He said, "The boy playing his heart out ain't he?" That really sums it up. My sister and I played Smile totally out. To this day for many reasons that song is still my favorite Sanborn.
