"This album-- featuring jazz, poetry, rap, and chants-- is a wonderful celebration of Pan-Africanist culture. The combination of the recent poetry of Amiri Baraka, and David Murray's fantastic Pan-African group represent a new departure in the music. Apparently, one of the veteran drummers is the creator of Senegal's national anthem. And the CD features Senegalese rap, alongside some of the best contemporary drumming around. It is one of the best contemporary CD's in my collection. This is a must buy! The only thing betterthan this is to see and hear them on stage. The music is truly inspirational! Check it out."
