Giving Up On Nothing!

"david's music takes much more of a spiritual influence than his past cd's. Always rich with the influence of talented "back-up artists," amongst the 18 songs on coffee..., he is accompanied by 8 back-up vocalists, 4 guitar players, and 3 bass players, even a bagpiper! With all of these performers, some of david's intricate string work seems to get lost. For some this will be a reasonable trade-off, compensated by the rich influence of the accompanying artists. A diverse artist, bailey hams it up in his witty Java Junkie--an anthem to his / society's obsession with coffee. Even tea toddlers will enjoy this comical chord. And you will absolutely flip over the bagpipes in Great Peace. Inside the Rain, aptly titled will bring tears to your eyes. Don't scramble to your liner notes, the wonderful back-up singer on Anyway, may sound like Aretha Franklin, but trust me it is not. Unlike earlier cd's, there is no preaching to doctors to be found, which makes coffee... more mainstreamed for the general listener who will enjoy the wisdom to be found in the gentle reminders bailey's music provides. A few examples: "A Moment is Forever, If You Choose To Carry On;" "Keep On Walking, We're Only Here For a Short While;" "Giving Up On Nothing;" "God Can Use You Anyway;" "Everybody Needs a Second Chance;" "It's Good to Have a Friend; & "Great Peace." bailey's message is certain to the touch the listener's soul, much like talking with an old friend-a friend with a rich, weathered, baritone spirit. This cd will not gather much dust in your collection. Hallelujah!"

"David Bailey... I live with a rare cancer, medullary thyroid carcinoma. i have survived 4 years against all odds so far...never remission, just stable. dr,David Arnold was my surgeon and Dr. Aaron Wolfson,my oncologist. I guess we are just determined to live and not let cancer get the best of us,right? I had the good fortune of attending the recent Sylvester Cancer Center's 9th Annual Cancer survivor day at Flamingo Gardens,Ft. Lauderdale, and I listened to you tell your life through your music. It was emotional. You do it with a mix of tears, laughter and feel good music. i wish you the best of everything life has
to offer and Gods blessings. My name is Barbara Kimbley...email-Barb7310@aol.com"

"This is a great CD. Folksy, poetic lyrics and memorable, expressive melodies ranging from deeply spiritual to just plain fun. My sister heard him sing at her church in Denver and sent this CD to me for my birthday. I had never heard of this guy before, but I am now going to buy his other albums. Reminds me of a cross between James Taylor and early Paul Simon. Uplifting lyrics of joy, peace, light, angels, and, of course, coffee!!"
