"As a trombonist myself, I am constantly in search of new recordings. I stumbled across this gem of a find a few weeks ago and was pleasanly surprised by the high level of playing going on here. Texas has long been a well of great brass playing given the many schools in the Dallas/Forth Worth and Houston areas known for their brass departments (North Texas, UT Austin, Rice, Texas Tech to name a few). This recording features the oft played but never recorded Myths and Legends by Eric Ewazen, and what a wonderful job they do. The other selections are also very well chosen, and well thought out. Bravo!"
