For more than two decades guitarist, composer, producer, and Grammy Nominated recording artist David Becker has continued to define himself as one of the best and most unique voices in contemporary jazz guitar by combining diverse influences and a passion for the new and different, and his ability to play for the present while always keeping an eye on the past and future. His latest release from jamboe Entertainment entitled, Batavia is his most personal recording to date. Inspired by the life and times of his mother and her family before, during, and after the Japanese Invasion and Occupation of the former Dutch East Indies (Indonesia) it is being released in the States to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Japanese Invasion complete with a full color, 12 page booklet with all the stories behind the inspirations of each song.
