"David Ball is the quintessential honky-tonker. He's got the perfect honky-tonk voice, he's a great songwriter, & he's got a great band. All of these elements come together perfectly on "Watching My Baby Not Coming Back". While there are many David Ball songs I like, this has got to be my favorite. The lyrics deal with the familiar subject of heartbreak, but the story is told in Ball's uniquely clever way. And although the topic itself may be depressing, the music absolutely soars, & can't help but make you feel good. This is an artist who deserves a lot more attention than he's getting."
