Synopsis
Album Description Originally released in 1975, and inexplicably out of print for three subsequent decades, Seriously Deep has become a kind of Holy Grail for samplers. Axelrod the composer is unmistakably present and what has also made the record a particularly sought-after item is the remarkable interplay between Joe Sample's exuberant keyboards and the hypnotically intense drumming of Leon 'Ndugu' Chancler. This is the kind of thing that gets samplers - and indeed anyone with a finely tuned sense of rhythm - very excited indeed. El. 2008. Similar CDs

CD ReviewsSeriously good but... Jerry Caffarello | NEW YORK, NEW YORK United States | 06/17/2008 (3 out of 5 stars) "...this CD is recorded from vinyl. how do i know ? well i can hear the pops and other noises that can only be from vinyl." Buy the one on El Records. M. van den Assem | The Netherlands | 08/01/2009 (4 out of 5 stars) "As a previous reviewer wrote, who must have mentioned the Dusty Groove CD release, it source came from a vinyl record. Subsequently his review was also placed below the import release. I did not buy the Dusty Groove one. I bought the one on Cherry Red Records sub label EL Records from the UK (the one that does not show the red Polydor logo on the front) that does comes from the master tapes and sounds truly fantastic!"
