Going for Baroque

"David Axelrod's production reeks of late 60s West Coast rock. This compilation covers work from his own albums as well as a few examples of his touch with other artists. Individual tracks range from the very good to the excellent, but as a whole the rather baroque arrangements and stale psychedelia can sometimes make it quite heavy going. If you appreciate music of this era this is a worthy buy."
Good stuff.

"There is something for anyone to like on this, from African singing, to spacey jazz, to stuff that sounds like soundtracks to great non-existant films. This is more varied than his recent cd, so if you like it, try this one."
