If you're so disappointed....

"may I recommend one of the various "greatest hits" albums? That way you can play "You Never Even Called Me" and "Take This Job and Shove It" on a continuous loop... This is a LIVE album, as in "recorded during a show". Name me one artist who goes onstage, doesn't interact with or speak to the audience, does a bunch of songs, and walks out the door.... This album is a take-home version of a DAC show, since, unfortunately, most people cannot roam from town to town following a performer. A Coe show is a lot like a Grateful Dead show used to be (without all the stinky dancing hippies).... a free-form, seat of the pants experience. David plays what he feels like playing that night, be it his classics, new original music, other artists' music, or a medley of stuff strung together. If you buy this expecting a studio album or regurgitation of his past classics, yes, you will be disappointed, but you also don't "get the concept". Our buddy "Guitar Bob" strikes me as the kind of guy who would have gone to a Dead show and complained that they didn't play "Touch of Grey".... As for the rest of us, this album is a live show available anytime we want a fix... DAC can only play so many shows a year, and won't be touring forever, so if you can't experience it in person, get this and the Biketoberfest CD.... and hold on!"
A real winner!

"The main reason this one doesn't get as much attention as it should is that most fans liked the DVD version better, which makes sense, but if you are looking for a great CD of a DAC show this is it. This is great for listening to in my truck and believe me I've listened to it a lot. David does it all including rap, but he does not talk through every song like one person on here stated. DAC has done spoken word albums and even Hank Williams did spoken word so what's wrong with that? Truth be told, there is nothing dissapointing about this CD to me and all DAC fans should get this and play it for a friend. If you are not a fan you should give it a try. I think the new songs on here are very good. Somebody on here said they wouldn't be hits, but that's a given considering the current sad state of Country radio. Thank God we have DAC to entertain common folks with music that speaks volumes and touches the heart and lifts the spirit."
