Amazon.com Armed with dark thumps and immaculate production, Liverpool?s Dave Ralph continues his winning streak on the 2-cd set Resident Alien. While he?s been spinning records since the mid-?70s, Ralph didn?t really hit the "international superstar DJ" stage until 1999?s Tranceport, Volume 2. Since then, he?s been everywhere, including a high profile set at Berlin?s Love Parade festival. As his star has risen, his use of popular dance tracks like Madagascar has dropped off in favor of exposing lesser-known and occasionally self-produced tracks to the masses. Alien?s best moments come courtesy of Ralph?s own work (with an assist from producer Alex Whalen), like the lovely "Full Contact" and "Pangs of Ambition."
