Album DescriptionJust Before The Helpers Come is Dave Milgram''s first professionally produced CD recorded, mixed, and mastered by 70 time Telly award winner Tim Jessup. Live from the heart, these thirteen songs will rock and roll around the world for folks of various musical tastes. This album takes the listener on a journey through world beats, native rhythms, and jazzy folk rock with masterful accompaniment from The Dave Milgram Band. From the sweet, healing, enchanting sounds of Mother Theresa''s Anyway poem to the mind-bending George Harrisonesque guitar of Run To The Edge Of Darkness to the deep resonating mood of Warriors in the Rain to the Hendrix-like guitar on Artichoke Heart to sounding like John Lennon harmonizing on William Blake''s Tyger/Tyger poem to the novelty song, Oxymorons In Your Face (with 100 in it), Milgram''s stingish delivery holds you in his almost 4-octave range with lyrics that defy much comparison. Dave Milgram has been writing songs since he was 13 years old. He was greatly inspired by his late great uncle Jim Friedman who wrote over 150 Broadway type show tunes. He inherited his uncle''s songs along with Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof) and John Kandor (Cabaret), who hope to put together a Broadway show of Jim Friedman songs in the future. Jim wrote songs with Shel Silverstein, two of which are on Judy Collins #3. He was also Steve Stills manager in Greenwich Village in the early 60s. Jim Friedman wrote the lyrics to tracks 2, 9, and 11. The Dave Milgram Band features Dave Milgram singing and playing acoustic guitar on all songs with some harmonic accompaniment. -Lawrence Wood on Accordion. He also wrote the music for Tyger/Tyger and sings lead on that song. -Tim Jessup plays various electric guitars, keyboards, and arrangements. -Richard Hardy, of the early Dave Matthews Band, on Clarinet, Saxophone, Flutes, and Pennywhistles. -Mark Thomas on Pedal Steel and electric guitar on ?Edge of Darkness. -Eddie Barattini on Drums and Cajon.
