"Dave was picked up by Drive Tru before even graduating high school! And for good reason. This may easily be the next biggest act. It's obvious that singer/song writers are what labels are searching for and throwing into main stream. Dave Melillo happens to be one of the few that I actually listen to and enjoy. This CD has 6 well writte teenage anthems. Catchy and heart felt. Mark my word... Dave will be doing great things in 2006. Buy this CD and turn it up in your car... you will know all the words in a matter of minutes."

"Drag out your old high school and college memories and get ready to sit back and unwind. You'll sing your heart out to Dave Melillo as he teases and tickles your brain with acoustic riffs and picking for six tracks. No track on this disc is skippable. Beginning strong with "Sam's Song" fans will recall the difficulty of a long distance relationship and long to be held by a significant other. Melillo continues to tug on your heartstrings with "Knights of the Island Counter" which lovingly discusses and recalls a fun, forget-all night with good friends. If you remember hating high school, like all teenagers did, "This Is 2005" is sure to make you smile and sing along as you go back to those rebellious days of your past. Melillo uses catchy lyrics, lovable guitar, and memories shared by all to make this EP a masterpiece. Fans will be anticipating the release of Dave's first full length until the day it arrives in stores."
Dave Melillo Is Addicting

"After hearing Dave Melillo's Talk Is Cheap EP for the first time, I was completely addicted. I couldn't get enough of the acoustic driven melodies and lyrics Dave Melillo incorporates into his music. I think he is absolutely going to blow up within the next year. His music is simply too catchy for people not to love and get attached and addicted to. It's just one of those CDs that you simply cannot get sick of. I've actually let this CD sit in my car's CD player for weeks without removing it because every time I got into my car to drive, I wanted to listen to it. Dave Melillo is a very talented artist and I reccommend that you buy this album if you love mellow, catchy, acoustic driven rock.
Plus, when I heard the lyric "I've got some problems but we've got ten dollars that's enough to get us wasted before the night is over these past five days I've been completely sober but tonight I'm getting ripped wide open" I couldn't find a better lyric to express what I was feeling at that time. And from that moment on, I've been hooked!"
Worth the listen

"So normally i'm not as into more mellow music like Dave Melillo, but for some reason he became an exception. I think it's the honesty and genuine nature of Dave's lyrics and music as a whole. I just really feel like I can relate to what he sings about. And he's not one of those big coorporatest musicians and has no motivations from the record company. He just writes what he likes and what he feels and experiences.
After listening to the album a couple of times, i was hooked. completely obsessed. I mean, if big rocks stars that do cocaine and have groupies is your thing, go listen to that. But if you'd like to hear something down-to-earth for once that might actually leave you feeling satisfied - pick up this CD and give it a chance."
"Aside from a couple of independent pop-punk releases, 2006 has been a crappy year for rock. Almost every new record released this year has SUCKED in a major way. So yeah, I was glad to hear David Melillo's "talk is cheap EP" a couple of weeks ago. Every song here is just so good, the perfect mix of light acoustic rock and backyard, campfire pop-punk. It's almost as if dave is sitting in your living room when you listen. Needless to say, the production/mixing is crazy good. You owe it to yourself to escape the crap and try something new. I can't wait to hear the full length"
