"McKenna has a way of keeping one entertained in a solo context, which is quite difficult to do. He can play at astonishing speeds, with the most active left hand I have ever heard, but he is also sensitive with ballads. One does not miss the absence of bass or drums, but instead gets caught up in the way he approaches each song, at first in a seemingly simple manner, until you LISTEN to the complexity of what he is doing. This is a unique musician in fine form."

Many times you feel there is more than one piano player playing.

He is a very creative improvisor who never strays too far from the familiar melody line. Another one of his many fine albums."
