"Dave Mackenzie's 1995 release has been re-released this year as "the all new" Slender Man Blues. In actuality, the release is identical to the earlier version and that's a good thing. The CD showcases Mackenzie as a witty songwriter and an accomplished blues musician who plays with a hint of Nashville. Some of the songs bring to mind the lyrical style of Rick Estrin of Little Charlie and the Nightcats. The majority of the disc is acoustic based complete with slide guitar and mandolin. The disc is an enjoyable listen and a pleasant change of pace from the blues rock genre."
