"I just read the review, "Elevator Music in Disguise" and I have to go on line to disagree. This is an exceptional gathering of some fine musicians including Dave Grusin, Don Grusin, Lee Ritenouer, Tiger Ripoche, and a few others I don't remember right now. I owned this record in a vinyl edition and was looking for a replacement CD. Grusin plays some mellow stuff on various recordings, but this recording is anything but elevator music. Check out cuts like Shuffle City and Countdown. This recording may not be a certain type of jazz, but is unquestionably jazz and a real treasure as far as I am cancerned."

"Channel surfing and found Dave Grushin and his LA Dream Band on CN8. Had to get up and start moving. Mr Lee Ritenour and friends were fantastic. The dualing pianos is a sound journey. Stongly suggest if you want to be uplifted, do yourself a favor, buy this CD."

"Here we have some of the greatest musicians to ever grace the earth. Anthony Jackson (one of the top five bass players of our time) who considerably raised the standard , and Steve Gadd, the greatest drummer in the world. If one wants to learn how to play music in it's purest form listen to this recording among the countless other recordings these incomparably brilliant musicians have touched with their genius."

"I've been enjoying the LP for many years. I'm waiting for a CD re-master with super duper treatment like a remix & HDCD. The Lp is early digital..... lets bring this great work up to date."

"This is a "must have" item for the complete jazz collector. I have seen the video version, but do not have a copy. Thus, my question is: when are we going to see a DVD version of this memorable Tokyo concert? Even though I have the audio CD, I would definitely buy a video edition on DVD. GRP, get on it!"
