"In the current world of "Diva De Jour" and corporate-created sensationalism, lost in the mix are the artists who have progressed over their long careers. Their work gets better with passing time. Billy Joel certainly comes to mind (one of the few who still has strong sales). I would put Sting in that catagory, as well as James Taylor. Donna Summer sang better than ever on her VH-1 special. But demographics dictate that these artists do not get airplay nor support from their labels.DARYL HALL FITS IN THIS CATAGORY!! Along with the 1993 release, SOUL ALONE, you have some incredible songs that eclipse his earlier work. In particular, on CAN'T STOP DREAMING, there are three or four songs that will blow you away. "Something About You" is a terrific ballad. "Cab Driver" is as good as adult contemporary gets, just great. "What's In Your World", is one of the best songs of its type to come along in a long time, I got chills hearing it. And lastly, the re-working of the Hall&Oates classic "She's Gone" is breath-taking--he covers his own hit with the perspective of two decades of living. Just a stellar acoustic guitar-driven arrangement. The lower key signature (from C down to A flat) gives it a fresh new sound.He is in fine voice, with more notes now in the bottom range, the control is still there and his reading of the lyric better and more selective of when to belt and use acapella, etc.This is what good music is all about. I can't fathom how anyone couldn't like this record. Also, "Never Let Me Go" is a solid dance number and would fit into any club mix. The younger generation would dig it if they were just exposed to it. The differences in music from the late 90's vs. the 70's are not as profound as say, the 70's vs. the 50's. The beat is the same and the instrumentation is the same, save for some advances in technology (MIDI for example).The price for the import was more than worth it. Sound quality and production top-flight. Get this CD and share it with your friends. And while you're at it, pick up SOUL ALONE and enjoy some REAL music.In closing, I cannot believe this recording was not released domestically--gives new meaning to the word, "injustice""

"After waiting two 2 years I finially have "Can't Stop Dreaming" and I "Can't Stop Listening". Being a long time fan of Hall and Oates, I am very familiar with all of their music and also all of Daryl's solo projects and this CD is one of the best.Can't Stop Dreaming is a musical experience. Every song is wonderful. There is no skipping tracks on this CD and some you will have to listen to twice!Congradulations to Daryl for being the MASTER of ROCK & SOUL!"

"I kept on hearing the version of the Hall and Oates classic
"She's Gone" from this c.d. on the radio and could never
find it in any stores. It not only is a great version , its
worth the price of the c.d. If you are a Daryl Hall and
John Oates fan, this is a must. As another reviewer wrote;
I have Can't Stop Dreaming and can't stop listening! All
the tracks are superb and Daryls' voice is excellent."

"Can't Stop Dreaming is a treasure waiting to be found. I first got a copy from a friend in 1997. I still listen to this great work of art. This is Daryl at his purest most soulful best. He is truly the most underrated artist in our generation. So far this piece of work is the greatest piece not released to the world."
This is worth the price.....

"I bought this cd about 4 months ago - thought the price was steep - but was so happy I bought it. Daryl has never sounded better - these songs really showcase his voice and what his range is. If you like the new one "Do It For Love" then you'll love this....also be sure to get "Phunk Shui" which is John Oate's solo project - it is worth the price as well. John is more than just a back up singer.Both can stand on their own or do the job as the best selling duo ever! You won't be disappointed by this album...."
