"Danny Howells is still probably a very underground name although he has spun with Sasha and Digweed on their Northern Exposure UK tour. The tracks on this cd have been intricately mixed and although it is a 1999 release, your speakers will fill your ears with a sound that screams "squeaky clean and studio fresh!" If you're looking for trance cheese don't look here! What you'll get is a rolling suite of climaxes interspersed with groovy basslines and groundbashing beats. The set never lets up! Danny starts calm and collected with The Creatures' Disconnected and then slowly picks up the pace until Science Dept.'s Persuasion which is a more vicious mix than on Digweed's Hong Kong Global Underground set. Two different mixes of Jark Prongo's Shake It are spun in back to back and the effects are amazing. Howells definitely knows how to transition between house and jungle with a smooth hand. This said, our dj inflates the decks with a very wild and demented mix of Cevin Fisher's Music Saved My Life which is thickly layered with flanges and bullyish beats! The set is finally cooled by a melodic breeze of trance in the form of Excession's Skien and X-Cabs Infectious '99 which brings it to a tight, confident close. This cd is sure to be a crowd-pleaser at your next party. Danny effortlessly drives your mind through a complex labyrinth of grooves and transitions."
