"For me, Daniela Mercury is perhaps the greatest female voice of all time. Her music defines the words fun and joyfulness ( I prefer the Portuguese word alegria). However, this album disappoints. It seems she has fallen to the Brazilian female singer curse. Producers have pushed her into electronic, over produced music, instead of staying true to her roots. This CD isn't awful, but it just isn't the quality that one is used to from Daniela. You'd be better off buying Feijão com Arroz. I just hope this is a one CD aberration."
Disappointing album and not Daniela's best effort

"I love Daniela! She has quickly become one of my favorite singers. I agree with one reviewer, however, who said that Daniela's current album is disappointing and is not her best effort. I realize that she is probably trying to challenge herself as an artist by venturing into new forms of music like techno, electronica, and drum and bass. I think that in this effort, however she fails. These songs lack the mischieviousness and sparkle of her previous efforts. This review would have been two-and-a-half stars if I could have selected that rating, but the three stars will do.
If you are a first-time enthusiast searching for a Daniela Mercury album to buy, I suggest that you purchase either "Feijao Com Arroz" or "Sol Da Liberdade." Both of these albums reflect Daniela at her best and contain a mixture of well-written and danceable slow and fast-paced songs. I suggest you buy both (heh)...but with either purchase you can't go wrong. I only suggest that you purchase "Sou De Qualquer Lugar" if you are a die-hard admirer like myself who wishes to complete their collection of Daniela's music."

"I recently saw a Daniela Mercury video on World Link TV and was hooked by her music immediately. I now own three of her CDs and want more more more. At a recent dinner party my wife and I had in Houston, I shared Daniela's music with a percusionist who performs with the Houston Ballet. He loved it as much as I do and other people felt the same. I now need a daily fix of Daniela to brighten my day. I would highly recommend the last 3 or 4 of her lastest CDs. I wish there was a DVD of her videos available as well."

"Of course I'm wildly prejudiced regarding Daniela Mercury, and to be truthful I can't even remember exactly how I first encountered her...Feijao Com Arroz was the first CD I bought, though, and I was hooked. In a way she is like any brilliant musical artist...you wonder when they're going to lay an egg, and scrutinize each new release with a certain hands up attitude. I'd heard some negatives about Sou De Qualquer Lugar, but I added it to my Daniela Mercury collection anyway, and began to listen to the tracks tentatively. "Mutante" is hands down the best on the CD, possibly the best song she's ever done, and it immediately grabbed me. But, the more I listen to the rest of the album, the more I like it. It's different from her previous work, as it should be, but some very good stuff here. Way to go Daniela!"
