"This album comes as a fabulous surprise. I'm shocked that there aren't umpteen glowing reviews of it on here! Whatever; that's a mystery, but I can certainly recommend this CD to anybody who loves punk rock, or just plain old good music of any stripe. The theme is redemption, the survival of something good & true in the face of crappy circumstances, and it's explored with all-around humor, dedication & intensity. Musically, this sounds great--fabulous musicianship all around. Very fiery....Not a shock, really, considering this band is composed of the surviving members of the Gits. The sound is somewhere between classic songs that you might hear on FM radio, and old-school punk in the vein of Bad Religion or Social Distortion. Very melodic and a couple of really different sounds in there--backing vocals by Joan Jett sound sweet (in the Napoleon Dynamite sense, not the pink-ruffles-and-frills sense!).
Definitely a "must-hear" if you are into punk/rock n roll. Kudos, Dancing French Liberals--hope to hear a Part II someday!"
