Another Fantastic Live Performance...

"One of the early New Wave's most accomplished musical outfits, Missing Persons began life, appropriately enough, as a live band. And though one might think that Dale Bozzio's unorthodox vocals (she wished to be an actress, but Frank Zappa enjoyed her hyper-Bostonian accent enough to put her unusual vocal talents to work on several LPs) could not hold up during a live performance, those signature growls, chirps and hiccups were ideally suited to the live venue. But whatever one may think of Dale's vocal talents, former touring guitarist Warren Cuccurullo and now legendary drummer Terry Bozzio (also Zappa alumni, and Dale's then-husband) possessed more than enough experience, and talent, to ground the synth-driven band in solid rock-n-roll virtuosity. Indeed, as many fans and New Wave connoisseurs are aware, this band really could play. 'Live from the Danger Zone' is yet another fine, live performance from Missing Persons, a must-have pendant to the Cuccurullo-produced 'Late Nights, Early Days' of the mid-'90s) and something of a must-have since it contains four tracks from the band's second album effort, 'Rhyme and Reason,' an elegant, somewhat groundbreaking collection of synth-y, jazz-y tunes that many fans consider MP's finest recorded moment. As many insiders know, that album's studio sessions placed an incredible strain on the Bozzio marriage, with Terry, and to some extent Warren, demanding of Dale take after take in order to coax her range into deeper territory. The boot-camp tactics worked, and 'Rhyme' clearly differs from its certified gold predecessor, 'Spring Session M,' via a more controlled, and at times sultrier, approach to Dale's quirky vocal styling. Dale shines throughout 'Live from the Danger Zone,' rarely missing a beat and confidently reinterpreting those grueling hours in the studio for an appreciative live audience. 'All Fall Down' is the stand out, and comes across as surprisingly contemporary and 'now.' But then, all the tracks are winners and the several years it took for Dale Bozzio procure this rare soundboard recording are well worth it: "Live from the Danger Zone' truly delivers the thrills."
Finally - A Great Live Record From Missing Persons

"Underrated in their day, Missing Persons was one of the more exciting bands of the 80's. Known for their incredible musicianship, with a quirky vocalist - Dale, they had several great hits, all here on this collection.
Overall great sound quality. Recommended for your daily 80s flashback."
