CD ReviewsFavorites! Everyone...Someone.. | middle america | 12/10/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "By chance I heard one of Dala's songs on the radio........I was captivated by their gorgeous voices and gentle sound. They are from Canada and not well known yet...in the U.S. Online at CD Baby, I was able to purchase 3 other CD's by Dala....I think this CD...Everyone is Someone is my favorite....but not by much. All the CD's are excellent and do not disappoint.......these lovely women are gifted both physically and vocally......their music will only improve with time. And I will be following their music for as long as I can...." Amazing voices Wisconsin Ben | 12/01/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "I saw these two in concert here in the US. They have absolutely amazing voices and the harmonies they create are simply wonderful. I can't recommend this CD enough." A Perfect Blend of Voices - The Girl Group Sound brought int Steven I. Ramm | Phila, PA USA | 01/17/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "At a recent music conference in New York I heard a lot of "buzz" about these two young Canadian women and just had to hear them. A brief - and jam packed - "showcase" led me to this CD, their newest. Amanda (the DA in DALA) and Sheila (the LA in the group's name) are so in harmony on the tracks on this CD that you'd swear that its one voice overdubbed. But its not. All the tracks are beautiful but "Levi Blues" - with its repeating refrain "I'll always come back to you" - is reminiscent of the 60s girl group sound, and stays with you long after the album ends. (The song appears as a cleverly titled "AM Transistor Remix" as the last track.)
They are just starting to appear in the US and once they get airplay here they will become even better known south of the US/Canada border. There are some earlier CDs that I'm going to head to next. Discover DAL now, before all your friends do. Then you can say "I knew them first!". Steve Ramm "Anything Phonographic" " |
