Album Description Twenty-five year old Guy Hatfield is a man on a mission. Although breakbeat has traditionally been dominated by acts such as The Crystal Method and DJ Icey, Hyper has recently been heralded as the new leader of the pack as he continues to turn heads and push boundaries to great acclaim. So much so that the Crystal Method has invited Hyper to support the group throughout their 2004 US tour. Hyper's pioneering "Y3K" DJ compilation albums secured his name in the dance scene as one to watch and spawned many copycat releases. Guy went on to surpass expectations with his world-renowned "Bedrock Breaks" CD's for Digweed's lauded label. Recently signed to Thrive Records, Hyper's new double mix album "Wired" presents a unique mix of Hyper originals, collaborations, remixes, and choice third party songs, making it a hybrid artist album/remix collection/DJ mix CD. Standout cuts include Hyper's recent remix of UK chart toppers Sugarbabes' 'In The Middle', Hyper's collaborations with breakbeat favorites Uberzone & General Midi, as well as upfront tracks from Plump DJs & Moguai. CD ReviewsMy favorite breakbeat artist M | Michigan | 11/22/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "Hyper delivers electronic breakbeats just how I like them. I don't understand how anyone can listen to his stuff and not start dancing right there on the spot. My personal favorite tracks here are "Shock Proof," "Outsider," "Entertainer," and "Body Rock." Despite his past connections with The Crystal Method, don't listen to him and expect anything similar. If you're a breakbeat fan at all, I can't recommend Hyper enough. If you're a Drum & Bass fan, you may also like his stuff. If you're an electronic music fan in general like I am, I recommend giving Hyper a listen - You may fall in love with it." Solid Jose Ibanez | Eatontown, NJ | 01/25/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "I saw Hyper live when he was touring with The Crystal Method on their Legion of Boom tour. Hyper was promoting the release of this album at the time. I normally don't get DJ Mix albums because they tend to be extremely random and not very listenable (case in point, The Dirtchamber Sessions by Prodigy). But I was really impressed with the set, so I picked up the CD. Wired is, simply put, an extremely well put together DJ Mix album. This is pretty standard break beat stuff, nothing terribly innovative about his style, but it's just exceptionally well done. The songs on this album range from OK to amazing. This album is just as good to rave to in a club as it is just to listen to. In general, this album makes me want to drive about 120 MPH. This is also a good introductory album if you're interested in electronic music but not sure where to start." All Hyped Up Michael Mayhem | Greenville,SC | 05/11/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "This is a pretty damn good mix, well at least on the first cd,which is very upbeat and energetic. The second one,I dont really care for because it's way to soft for my tastes.Hyper has proved that he's one of the best breaks dj's in the buisness,if you like dance music, then go get "Wired""
