Prog'70s must-have

"The MUST-HAVE album from 1970 finally available on CD (with bonus tracks, demos etc, 15 tracks)- not bootleg (previously available CD on Akarma label had 7 tracks only)! A classic British powerful and heavy progressive rock in the league of King Crimson, Procol Harum, The Moody Blues, The Nice and Atomic Rooster. Warning: it has NOTHING TO DO WITH ROCK CZAR (thanks God!)Strong creative melodies with a flair of psychedelia, pretty unusual guitar riffs, superb vocal harmonies, keyboard (Hammond)-dominated... My favourite is "Cecelia". Musicians are: D. Gough on drums, Bob Hedges (piano, organ, vocals), Mick Ware (guitar & vocals), Paul Kendrick - excellent bass & vocals. At that pathetic price it is a give-away"
Tuesday's Children turn heavy and progressive

"After releasing a series of singles, the British psych band Tuesday's Children were given the opportunity to record a full lp. Having morphed into a much heavier, progressive sounding band, the members felt it appropriate to change their name, thus Tuesday's Children became Czar, and an eponymous album was released in 1970. "Czar" was filled with longer tracks, the 7 cuts on the lp averaging 6 minutes in length, and the sound was much heavier, led by Mick Ware's outstanding guitar work and Bob Hodges' keyboards (piano, Hammond organ, celeste, harpsichord, and mellotron). 6 of the albums 7 cuts were written by bassist Paul Kendrick, the other by guitarist Ware. Hodges' keyboards gave the band a Procol Harum type sound, while Ware's guitar reminiscent of Atomic Rooster or Andromeda. Originally the lp was released on cd by Akarma and contained only the lp's 7 tracks. Sunbeam have kindly added 8 bonus tracks giving the disc a run time exceeding 72 minutes. Among the bonus tracks are an album out-take, both sides of a post-lp single, and five demo recordings made for a proposed second album. The songs are well crafted and solid throughout. To put "Czar" in its proper context it is necessary to purchase "Strange Light From The East" by Tuesday's Children on Cherry Red Records' Rev-Ola imprint. This disc contains all the singles and 6 bonus tracks. Both discs are essential for all fans of late 60s/early 70s psychedelic/progressive rock and are available at bargain prices from Amazon drop shippers. Pick them up together so that you can put the recordings in perspective. You won't regret it. Both discs are filled with solid songs performed by stellar musicians."
