Product DescriptionSoaring vocals meet listenable melodies and personal observations in the latest solo project from Cy Curnin (lead singer of The Fixx). Long time bandmate and friend Jamie West-Oram adds his distinctive guitar.
Imagine two men scuba diving deep in the sea. The first chases the fish, expending a great deal of energy while his oxygen tank quickly depletes. The other diver waits. In time, the fish come to him. And he still has all the air he needs.
Relating this story, Cy Curnin is likely to tell you that he has played all of the parts. The anxious diver. The fish. Even the air in the tank. Most recently, he has been the patient diver. No longer pursuing, he endeavors to live in the present moment.
Cy's newest solo release, THE RETURNING SUN, represents who he is now, written during a tumultuous period a number of years ago. Produced by Doug Beck, known for his remix projects in NY, the record showcases Doug's technical know-how in computer programming, which was used considerably.
The first featured track from THE RETURNING SUN is "Remember Me When I'm Gone," which features the lyrics of Jeanette Obstoj, who has lent lyrics to some signature Fixx songs in the past (such as "Secret Separation"). This was the first song Cy developed for the record.
