"I have heard two of the songs from this album, given to a friend of mine by Robbie Cronholm himself. They are exellent, just like everything that is put out by this band. I cant wait for the rest of it."

A departure from "Romance..."

"So, I heard Crumb for the first time a few years ago in a record store. They had just gotten a promo copy of "Romance Is A Slowdance" (their first major release). After about 30 seconds of listening to "Shoegazer", I was hooked... Swirling guitars, emotional singing (somewhat reminiscent of Adam Duritz of Counting Crows, but not really), and lyrics that lured me in. I had to wait a couple more months before I could buy my own copy... (although I got a promo tape of it a week later)."Seconds, Minutes, Hours" is what happens when a couple guys who really enjoy making music get access to infinite amounts of tracks on which to layer guitars and vocals... This album goes into a more "arena rock" direction, most likely due to Beau Hill producing it (hint: he produced records for bands like Warrant...). But, for some reason, it works. It still retains that 'emo' feeling... I never thought indie rock could sound so BIG. "Tonight" opens the album with pummling drums (courtesy of Josh Freese, studio-drummer-extraordinare), and Mark's guitars... Robby's vocals sound much more produced than on their previous effort, but it still works. I won't list all the songs, but highlights are: "Tonight", "Do You Remember?" (featuring the Hayden sisters from That Dog), "Seconds", and "Cressida"... although I do love the entire album. They employ all their friends on this album... from Jimmy Adkins (Jimmy Eat World) to Blair Shehan (Knapsack). In all, it's an amazing album. I highly recommend it, along with "Romance Is A Slowdance", which I feel to be their best effort. The only reson I only gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is that I have to leave room for "Romance..." to receive 5... except, that album is not available for review. Buy this album! Support the Bay Area, CA music scene...."

"Crumb is one of my favorite bands ever. They are just amazing, with a unique sound to them. One thing I like about this album is the snare drum sounds drawn out and dark, and the whole album has a sort of dark/mysterious atmosphere. I love Crumb, and I wonder what has become of them. I can't find any information on them anymore, besides old interviews, etc. from 1998 and earlier."
