"This CD is awesome. Slow to medium speed pulverizing rhythms, this is not speed metal. Vocals are rough and powerful, but not death metal gnarly. Above average lyrics for metal, usually tortured; lots of failed relationships and disappointment. You can just feel the pounding drumming. It's like Black Sabbath on a massive dose of steriods. And plenty of change ups to keep things interesting, Crowbar does not just pick one rhythm and ride it the whole song - they shift gears like a well oiled machine. This is absolutely one of the ten best metal cds I have ever heard, and I have heard a bunch. If you love pounding, crunching metal you must buy this. Totally powerful - I hear metal band after metal band and they simply do not measure up to this cd. It is outstanding metal. And if you like this (you will)
, ALSO buy "Time Heals Nothing," it is outstanding - I believe every bit as good as Broken Glass."

"I'm hooked. I first heard "Lasting Dose" on my digital cable channel. Crowbar weighs 10,000 pounds. Kirk's vocals are amazing and the band's overall sound is so overdriven and MASSIVE with a capitol "M". The disc is heavy from the onset with "Broken Glass" being a true standout; but from tracks 6 on, I can't even describe how hard this record hits. Particularly crushing are are "I Am Forever" and "Above, Below..." and
"I'll Live Again". You will find your own. BOOM BOOM THWAP!! Crowbar surprises you with dead-stop breaks overwhelming crunchy riffs that redefine intensity. Make your headphones happy."

"this is the fourth and best cd from a great original metal band. this cd is great from start to finish, i love every song on here. favs are like broken glass, nothing , above, below and in between, conquering, and (can't) turn away from the dying. you may have heard crowbar compaired to eyehategod, (another great southern band) but crowbar offers more changes and emotion (plus you can actually make out the lyrics). by far one of the most overlooked bands around"

"If you're familiar with Crowbar, you are well aware of the brutality and anger underlying each and every song. Heavy, harmonic and steady, few bands accomplish as much with as few notes. If you are new to Crowbar I recommend picking up the self-titled copy first... one must see the progression the band has made to Broken Glass to appreciate it fully. There is nothing wrong with Broken Glass, however; I love it because it is so different than anything else in my collection. Buy Crowbar, any Crowbar, and revel in the pools of oily sludge oozing from your overworked amplifier. Heavy heavy heavy!"

"The funny thing about Crowbar is that after you've heard this CD, you actually feel like you've been hit by a crowbar. Not that that's a bad thing. This CD, along with everything else Crowbar has ever put out, rules the New Orleans metal scene, aside from Pantera and Tungsten. If you like hard-hitting metal that takes no prisoners and will leave you feeling beat up and wanting to bite the heads off stuffed animals, this is for you. Rock on Kirk!"
