"I had heard a few songs here and there from this band, but never really gave them that much of a chance. Then I bought this CD at a live show and haven't been able to bring myself to take it out of my truck ever since. Their prior CDs had not been mixed very well, so I didn't really get into them. But, this one is cleaner and very well produced. The result is one outstanding song after another. CCR takes "Americana", "Texas Music", or whatever you want to call the style of country music with a total absence of Nashville influence, and puts a driving rock beat behind it. Bands like Reckless Kelly appear to be a big influence. In fact, CCR even covers RKs "Crazy Eddie's Last Hurrah" on the new CD "LIVE & LOUD FROM BILLY BOBS" coming out July 9th."
Don't miss your chance!

"I heard these guys at a Pat Green concert a while back and have absolutely fallen in love with this band. My friends and I attend any CCR concert we can, and we often find ourselves travelling all around Texas. I bought this CD and have virtually kept it in my car stereo all the time. No wait, I take that back, I take it out of the CD player long enough to replace it with "Live at the Wormy Dog" another one of CCR's CD's. Highlights of this album are, "42 miles", "Alabama", and "Long Way Home." I am looking forward to the "Live at Billy Bob's" CD. Buy this CD and go to any concert you can, because these guys are going to be big, and you'll kick yourself for missing the opportunity."
Cross Canadian Ragweed cannot disappoint!

"HIGHWAY 377 is a rockin' little album about love, redemption, desperation, and committment. Stellar songwriting and incredible performances drive it into a category only CCR occupies--the best of the best."Look At Me" deals with a hookup in a bar, from a man who's down and out but still willing to try. "42 Miles" is about a man who just longs to get away from it all, but circumstances prevent him. "One of These Days," a funny little number about how love often goes wrong, will get you rockin' out; the title track is a haunting look at the constant battle between Good and Evil (personafied here as, of course, Christ and Satan). "Time to Move On" deals with that point in your life when you just have to, naturally, move on. "Long Way Home" is an ode to Vietnam, and those who fought there (and lost something precious). "Run to Me" is about the true meaning of committment; "Johnny's Song" and "Daddy's At Home" are two moving acoustic numbers.Cross Canadian Ragweed melds country and rock into a sound all their own. Yes, they are influenced by Nashville; not a whole lot, though (it's evident in "Alabama," "Bang My Head," and "Look at Me", but not in excess). They've managed something that most artists can only dream of: they've created good music by doing their own thing. HIGHWAY 377 is a perfect example of what a band can do when they're set free--to be themselves."
I love this band!

"CCR is so much fun - you can tell that these guys are just going out there and making music that they love! I move the CD from home to car to office every day - and have converted several of my office mates into CCR fans. The music grabs you & doesn't let go; buy every CD they have out b/c I promise you that after 1 CD - you'll want more."

"If you like to rock and you like country music then this is the band for you. Not only do you want to buy every CD they have recorded but you wish they would cover ever song that you love. A band that expands on the studio recordings shows an artist's ablilty that is second to none. I hope CCR does not get too big that the North Carolinaians do not have to travel west of the Mississippi to "partake" in their music. If you do not like loud a** kicking music that leaves everyone screaming for more, then you just wasted you time reading this review because I can't make you like these guys, I can only tell you what you are missing!"
