CD Reviews

A Highly Recommended Treasure!

"Finally, fans of The Cranberries have the opportunity to obtain the COMPLETE CATALOG of this excellent band's earliest recordings. This four-disc set includes The Cranberries' first four albums (before 2001's "Wake Up and Smell the Coffee") in "complete sessions" form, including new packaging, and more importantly, 21 bonus tracks! On the debut album, EVERYBODY ELSE IS DOING IT, SO WHY CAN'T WE, bonus tracks are: "Reason," "Them," "What You Were," "Liar," "Pretty (Remix)," and "How (Remix)." All of these tracks are difficult to find anywhere else, as are most of the rest of the bonus tracks. The second disc, NO NEED TO ARGUE, treats us to the rarities of "Away," "I Don't Need," "Close to You (from the IF I WERE A CARPENTER tribute)," the very rare "So Cold in Ireland," and a remix of the hit, "Zombie." On TO THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED, bonus tracks are: "Cordell," "The Picture I View," "Ave Maria (with Pavarotti)," The amazing cover of "Go Your Own Way," from LEGACY, the Fleetwood Mac tribute, and the heart-pounding "God Be With You," from the soundtrack to the Harrison Ford/Brad Pitt movie, THE DEVIL'S OWN.Finally, BURY THE HATCHET provides us with the b-sides formerly available on BURY THE HATCHET: THE COMPLETE SESSIONS, but not included on the original North American recording. These are: "Baby Blues," "Sweetest Thing (not to be confused with the song by U2)," "Woman Without Pride," "Such a Shame," and "Paparazzi on Mopeds (in honor of the late Princess Diana)."Whether you're a new fan of The Cranberries or an old follower, this collection is a great opportunity to get EVERYTHING they've recorded, without having to buy all the tribute albums and soundtracks. Don't forget it includes all the hits, too, such as "Dreams," "Linger," "Salvation," "Ode to My Family," "Zombie," etc. This is a great way to hear a band grow!"
Simply the best

"I already had all of the Cranberries CD's before I bought this, but I still think that it was well worth my investment. There are a TON of songs and all of them are excellent. Like the title says, the Cranberries are simply the best band out there in my (if somewhat un-objective) opinion."
A must for any Dolores O'Riordan & Cranberries Fan

"The Cranberries re-released their first four studio albums as a complete session boxed set called The Treasure Box. This album was released in North America on May 14th to coincide with the start of the 'Wake Up and Smell the Coffee' North American Tour. This collection includes Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Cant We? (1991-93), No Need to Argue (1994-95), To the Faithful Departed (1996-97) and finally Bury the Hatchet (1998-99).This collection is more than just the last 4 albums. This collection includes all the albums remastered along with a lot of rare and b-sides that were not available before. Each of CD includes 5 bonus tracks not released before along with some interesting remixes. If you're a fan of the band and love Dolores O'Riordan, you will want to get this collection. Do the extra 20 tracks make this package worth it? The answer for me was a resounding YES. I have the 4 original CD's, but I still bought the package as I love the band, but your mileage may vary. The band does plan on selling this collection of CD's individually later in the year and so you may want to wait for that, but if you are a fan and don't have any of their CD's - get this collections nowInteresting to note on The Cranberries website - We must mention that as soon as the box set is released, it will no longer be possible to purchase any of the first four albums in their original formats, for the time being. The intention of the box set was mainly, to give Cranberries fans an opportunity to acquire the full catalog of Cranberries work to date, including some rarities and b-sides that could only be found on singles or other formats which are no longer available!"
