CD Reviews

Craig Fuller at his best
Bob London | Connecticut | 03/23/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"First of all, let's set the record straight. Craig Fuller did not leave Pure Prairie League under "mysterious" circumstances as written elsewhere on this page. Fact is, he was drafted in 1972. His next project (with Eric Kaz) was two albums recorded with American Flyer, followed by this project in 1978.

There are a handful of great songs here including "Cry Like A Rainstorm" (which Linda Ronstadt had Craig teach her to sing when she recorded it years later), "Feel That Way Again", "Let The Fire Burn All Night" and "Restless Sea".

A little known fact: I heard first hand that there was a second Fuller-Kaz project on the drawing boards which Lowell George had agreed to produce. Sadly, Lowell died and the project never materialized.

Craig later joined the reunited Little Feat and sang most of Lowell's vocals quite commendably. Fuller is now back with Pure Prairie League and is reportedly working on a solo album."
Fantastic Music--Deserves Reissue on Domestic CD
Donald L. Linn | Minneapolis, MN USA | 11/02/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I stumbled on this album in (I think) 1980 and it is absolutely one of the best in my vinyl collection. Sadly, the record is showing its nearly 30 years of wear and tear. I can't understand why someone hasn't remastered this for re-release. Songs like Annabella, Cry Like a Rainstorm and Restless Sea represent the best of the the era."
Great Album!

"I have this on Both Album and Japanese CD. I am glad to see it on CD, but I wish someone in America would take the masters of this and do a better job of mastering it. The music is great, but the sound has so much more potential."
