"For a long time I didn't have a favorite Cowboy Junkies album, but "Open" sort of sneaked up on me and lodged itself in my CD player for weeks at a time. Nobody since Rickie Lee Jones (Flying Cowboys, anyone?) had done that to me, really.



So I seized this two disc set once I realized what it was. The live material is excellent, capturing the stage presence of the band. The video material is beautiful, highlighting the music. And the Michael/Margo Timmins interview material is engrossing, if some of the interviewer's questions verge on the worshipful--the principals are funny, thoughtful... it's...... nice. So I recommend this set highly, especially at the deep discounts you see here on Amazon."

"I bought this used (both CD / DVD) in a booklet package case instead of the double jewel case and I was extremely pleased what someone sold so I could buy it. This recording / filming has reconfirmed my thought that The Cowboy Junkies are one of the best bands still rolling the open road and progressing in the studio. Margo's voice is still stunning as ever with Michael Timmins ripping it up on electric guitar and the rest of the band keeping the rhythms forward. Michael T. is one of the most underated guitarist alive today, I'd say.
