A nice 'n easy warm breeze

"If you want a laid back, relaxed Basie band...this is the cd. No screaching trumpets...no shrill soprano saxophones...no extented drum solos...just honest straight ahead great jazz. The ever present Freddie Green rhythm guitar laying the foundation for some swingin' charts mostly arranged by Sam Nestico. Sweets Edison makes a guest appearance on a nostalgic track "How Sweet it is". It also features Willie Cook on trumpet. To my knowledge Willie is he only musician to play with both the Duke Ellington and Count Basie big bands.(Clark Terry played with Basie's small group). So if the temperature is about 82, and there's a warm breeze...kick back with Basie at his best."
